Overview

The journey

Four days is the point at which central Vietnam stops being a coast and starts being a region. The first two days stay by the sea: Son Tra and the Lady Buddha, Hoi An's old town on foot, dinner and a lantern boat on the Hoai River, then a full day at Ba Na Hills for the Golden Bridge and the French Village.

Day three crosses to Hue through the Hai Van Tunnel, with a stop at Lap An Lagoon on the way. The Imperial Citadel and Thien Mu Pagoda before lunch, Hue royal cuisine at the table, Khai Dinh's mausoleum in the afternoon. The last morning is Dong Ba Market or the incense village at Thuy Xuan, then the flight home from Hue or Da Nang.

Pace
Steady. Two nights on the coast, one in Hue, and a free last morning before the flight.
Best for
A first trip to central Vietnam that wants the imperial half as well as the lanterns.

Questions

Can we fly out of Hue instead of Da Nang?

Yes, and it saves you two hours on the last day. Fly into Da Nang and out of Hue — we will hold the transfer either way, so book whichever pair of flights is cheaper.

Can the order of the days change?

Yes. The sequence of sights can shift with weather, traffic or opening hours, but the full list of included sights stays the same.

How are children charged?

Children aged 10 and over are charged the full rate. Children aged 9 and under are charged 75 percent of the rate, and children under 3 travel free of charge.

Can you cater for allergies or dietary needs?

Yes. Tell us what you avoid when you book and we will brief the restaurants on the route and choose suitable dishes.
